1) Arriving for Your Appointment
Please arrive 10-20 minutes prior to your appointment time to fill out paperwork related to your medical history and patient information and to discuss any questions you may have prior to seeing Dr. Vicari.
You may prepare ahead of time by printing and visiting our patient forms page. By printing and filling out this form prior to your appointment and bringing it with you when you come in you will save yourself time as it will reduce your wait times. If you do not have access to a printer or don’t have time to fill these forms out online – no need to worry – you can still fill out all necessary paperwork once you come in!
This paperwork provides us with your health history and information on your condition. You will also be asked to sign a consent form giving Dr. Vicari the right to exam and treat you. After you have completed the required forms, you will first be given a foot scan, which indicated how balanced you are as to weight-bearing on your feet. Next you will be given an EMG Scan, which graphs muscle contraction and central nerve irritation.
Our chiropractic clinic is located in Winkler at 2 – 720 Norquay Drive right across from Fabricland and next to McDonalds, Shoppers and the Southland Mall (view map).
Next, you will have a consultation with Dr. Denise Vicari to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, and potential treatment options. This initial visit is designed for Dr. Denise Vicari to learn more about you, your condition, and expectations to determine how chiropractic care can meet your goals.
After your consultation, Dr. Denise Vicari will perform a complete chiropractic examination testing your reflexes and flexibility. Other standard neurological, orthopedic, postural, and physical tests will be performed as well. However, nothing will be done in our office without your consent.
4) Report of Findings
Once the information is collected and examinations are performed, Dr. Denise Vicari will give you a detailed report of all findings and answer any questions you might have. You will also be given copies of your scans to take with you.
After reviewing your health history, goals, and examining your spine and X-rays, Dr. Denise Vicari will discuss recommendations and notify you if your condition requires care with other providers. Dr. Denise Vicari will provide the best treatment and wellness program for your needs.
At the conclusion of this initial appointment, you can choose to experience your first treatment. Treatment is interactive, so you can express concerns about the different styles of treatment anytime.
6) Wellness Program
Prior to leaving, the doctor will suggest a wellness program to incorporate outside of treatment. If you are in pain when you first come into our office this may include: ice or heat application instructions, certain activities or positions to avoid, and at home exercises and/or stretches. If you desire, our wellness team will work with you also to create healthy habits and routines for your lifestyle. Every person is unique, therefore everyone requires a customized wellness plan. The purpose of our wellness program is for you to achieve good spinal alignment, have a healthy diet, exercise, and maintain a positive mental state.
